Late Night Flying - The Album

There Is No God

Recorded as our Christmas song 2020 for our patrons at patreon.com/ilyasounds

I just put this up on YouTube ... I've not heard it for so many years but had a dream with drummer Simon Gore in it last night ... and so found myself listening to it this morning.

There is something so incredibly satisfying and thrilling about recording live with a band ... getting the song down in under 10 minutes ... and also leaving it open for improvisation.

I so enjoyed listening again to the interaction of these fantastic musicians Jerry Soffe on bass, Jon Stein on keys, Simon  (and obviously Nick on guitar and me singing :)

We were in the big live room at Christchurch that was then owned by Andy Allen, he had hoped we were going to come in and recorded something sweeter.

We all cracked up when he announced from the top of the stairs that 'it sounds like a pile of crap'.

That's Amore - written by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks.
